CHICAGO, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Burns International Security Services, a
subsidiary of Burns International Services Corporation (NYSE: BOR), today
announced that it has been awarded a three-year nuclear security contract from
Carolina Power & Light (NYSE: CPL) to provide security services at three
nuclear plants in North and South Carolina. The contract is valued in excess
of $25 million, and will employ more than 235 security personnel. Burns has
provided nuclear security services to Carolina Power & Light since 1975.
This contract renewal recognizes the valued relationship between Burns and
Carolina Power & Light. Burns' Energy and Government Services Unit provides
security at 21 nuclear power plants and seven Department of Energy facilities
in the United States and has over 30 years experience in this specialized
field.
