ANNAPOLIS, Md., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- FTI Consulting, Inc. (Amex: FCN),
the premier national provider of strategic and litigation-related consulting
services, today announced that the ten professionals of the Los Angeles firm
of Simpson LLP have joined FTI. William E. Simpson, JD, CPA, has been
appointed managing director of FTI/ Simpson in Los Angeles, a part of FTI's
Financial Consulting Division. He will develop the company's forensic and
litigation advisory practice on the West Coast.
A leading practitioner in the areas of forensic accounting and expert
witness testimony, Simpson LLP consisted of four partners and six other
professionals. Joining Mr. Simpson as directors are former Simpson LLP
partners Peter D. Wrobel, Peter A. Salomon and Jose A. "Tony" Santana, who are
all Certified Public Accountants. They have worked together for over
12 years.
"We are committed to building our firm with the most talented
professionals in the country and are pleased that Bill, Peter, Tony, Peter and
their colleagues have joined us here at FTI," said Jack Dunn IV, FTI's
chairman and chief executive officer.
Mr. Simpson has provided a variety of services to litigation attorneys
during the past two decades. He has testified on accounting, auditing,
business, statistical and other issues in federal and state courts. Prior to
forming Simpson LLP, he was a partner with two of the "Big Five" accounting
firms. Before that, Mr. Simpson was the regional chief accountant for the
Securities Exchange Commission and an examiner with the California Department

States Attorneys for his ability to organize and present complex situations in
a concise and understandable fashion.
Mr. Wrobel has participated in numerous litigation engagements involving
the determination of liability and the analysis and computation of damages.
He has been retained as an expert witness in cases involving general business
litigation, wrongful termination, personal injury and business valuation. He
specializes in mathematical modeling and database development as well as
statistical, economic and cost analysis. Mr. Wrobel has extensive experience
in developing trial graphics and other exhibits, and will work closely with
FTI's Litigation Consulting Division.
Mr. Salomon specializes in providing accounting and auditing expertise to
attorneys in litigation. He has participated in cases involving accounting
malpractice, securities fraud, business acquisitions, real estate,
reorganizations, limited partnership disputes, business valuations and general
business litigation. On several occasions, the Superior Court of California
has selected Mr. Salomon as an accounting referee or special master.
Mr. Santana has been involved in litigation requiring the analysis of
liability and determination of damages. He has created computer models and
graphics to analyze issues and illustrate findings in antitrust, breach of
contract, fraud, patent infringement and other litigation. He has in-depth
experience in a variety of industries including banking, high technology and
real estate, and has provided expert testimony at trials and arbitrations.
"Bill and his colleagues are very strong in the fields of expert witness
testimony and forensic accounting," said Barry Monheit, president of FTI's
Financial Consulting Division. "With the addition of the professionals of
Simpson LLP, all of our professional advisory practices are now resident in
the Los Angeles area." In May, FTI's Financial Consulting Division opened a
financial restructuring office in Los Angeles that shares quarters with the
company's Litigation Consulting Division office.
Commenting on their decision to join FTI, Mr. Simpson stated, "My partners
and I are very excited to be an integral part of one of the national leaders
in strategic and litigation consulting. We intend to utilize the company's
