ST. LOUIS, Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Premcor Inc. announced today that it
plans to shutdown the fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) unit, gas oil
hydrotreating unit and sulfur plant at its Port Arthur, Texas refinery for
approximately 35 days beginning January 4, 2002 for planned maintenance. The
refinery, with a crude distillation capacity of 250,000 barrels per day
("bpd"), has the ability to process 100% sour crude oil, including up to 80%
heavy crude oil, and produces conventional and reformulated gasoline, low-
sulfur diesel fuel, jet fuel, petrochemical feedstocks and fuel coke.
