CAMDEN, N.J., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- As systems were re-checked on Monday
night, A P N, inc.'s engineers suffered some minor Y2K problems with A P N,
inc.'s client's web site, http://www.greatlookingskin.com. The men's skin care
products online e-commerce site suffered from minor Y2K difficulties, which
only took site engineers a few minutes to repair.
The http://www.greatlookingskin.com site was reporting the date on the site as
"January 1900," affecting the site's shopping cart program which remembers
what shoppers put in their shopping basket even after they leave the site and
come back. But, due to the error, the site's shopping cart could not remember
users or complete orders.
A P N, inc.'s CEO, 18-year-old Alfred Powner II stated, "This goes to show
that Y2K can creep up on us, without any notice. The http://www.greatlookingskin.com
site was reporting dates and all other information properly when the dates
rolled over to 2000. But the errors did not show up until Monday night.
Although it only took our engineers a few minutes to repair, it was not
something we expected, since the rollover went bug free.
"A P N, inc. will continue to monitor the site and will be testing it out
often to prevent from any Y2K bugs going unnoticed by engineers. We do not
expect any other problems with the site and its programs after engineers spent
hours checking the site for other possible errors. But, we would rather be
safe and continue testing the site until late next week. So I guess the Y2K
bug can still show up, even after signs of a successful rollover. I will also
be personally monitoring the http://www.greatlookingskin.com website."
