CHICAGO, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Norwegian-American Hospital is proud to
announce a smooth transition into the year 2000. The hospital devoted
enormous time, energy and resources to be sure medical equipment and support
systems were safe and effective. The hard work payed off and the hospital did
not experience any major problems during the Y2K rollover weekend.
Health care, like other fields, had the potential of being impacted by the
year 2000 date change. However, Norwegian-American Hospital invested
significant dollars and hours assessing, evaluating and replacing medical
equipment in order to be year 2000 compliant by December 31, 1999.
"Each system within the hospital functioned as we predicted. We have been
planning for each contingency for more than 2 years," said Clarence
