Consumers and professionals continue to stretch the boundaries of mobile
computing, creating opportunities for innovative solutions," said Joe Loberti,
general manager of APC's Consumer Network Solutions group. "APC is proud to
respond by expanding its existing product family to include the Universal
Power Adapter, Universal Notebook Battery 65Wh, and Power Port Accessory."
These new products feature the following capabilities:
    * Universal Power Adapter -- is a power supply that can run most leading
brands of notebook computers using power from any airplane, auto or AC
outlet. It includes a variety of 'notebook tips' and features a
voltage selector switch, making it easy to set up and use. The adapter
also can power two additional devices, such as a phone, PDA or MP3
player at the same time as a notebook, via a USB power port and
splitter cable. Available in the first quarter 2006, the Universal
Power Adapter carries an estimated resale price of $99.99 (UPA9).
    * Universal Notebook Battery 65Wh -- is a lightweight portable notebook
battery that provides up to six hours of runtime, depending on a
computer's size and configurations. The Universal Notebook Battery is
easy to set up, with a voltage selector switch and LEDs that indicate
remaining power capacity. It is ideal for long business trips or
charging the battery of a notebook when AC power is not available.
Currently available in North America, the estimated resale price is
      $149.99 (UPB60).
    * Power Port Accessory -- is an add-on to the Universal Notebook Battery,
allowing consumers to charge devices such as cell phones, PDAs and MP3
players, when AC power is unavailable. Available in the first quarter
2006, the Power Port Accessory carries an estimated resale price of
      $19.99 (UP5V).

These new accessories can work independently or in conjunction with APC's
Power Ready Notebook Cases. APC will exhibit these and other mobile computing
products at 2006 International CES from January 5-8 in booth 35648 South Hall
4.
