BILLERICA, Mass., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GSI Group Inc.
(Nasdaq: GSIG) today announced a multi-million dollar order from an existing
customer for its Wafer Repair systems to be used in the production of memory
chips. Shipments against this order will be made in the first and second
quarter.
According to Nino Federico, V.P. and General Manager for the company's
Laser Systems Group, "This order indicates that the market for memory repair
systems continues to strengthen." Commenting further on the memory repair
business, Mr. Federico stated, "The need for these systems was driven by pure
capacity expansion."
