DENVER, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ultimate Electronics, Inc.
(Nasdaq: ULTE), a leading specialty retailer in home entertainment and
consumer electronics, today announced the appointments of Jim Pearse as senior
vice president of marketing and merchandising, Gerry Demple as senior vice
president of repair and installation services, and Steve Connell as vice
president of information technology.
Jim Pearse has been with the company since 1993 and most recently served
as its vice president of marketing. In his new position of senior vice
president of marketing and merchandising, Pearse will be responsible for
developing the company's marketing and merchandising strategies and designing
procedures to implement such strategies. Pearse will also be responsible for
prioritizing the company's merchandising and marketing objectives and
opportunities. In addition, he will focus the company's marketing and
merchandising teams on effective product selection, managing vendor relations
and communicating marketing initiatives.
Gerry Demple has been with Ultimate Electronics since 1978 and most
recently served as vice president of installation services. As the new senior
vice president of repair and installation services, Demple will be responsible
for Ultimate Electronics' repair service operations in addition to the
company's home and car installation services and builder services division.
He will also be responsible for managing the growth opportunities available in
these areas of the company's business and for building synergies between the
departments to better serve Ultimate Electronics' customers.
Steve Connell joined Ultimate Electronics in 2002 as the company's
director of information development after leaving his position as manager of
Oracle(R) integration at Tomax Technologies, our point-of-sale partner. In
his new role as vice president of information technology, Connell will oversee
the execution of our long-range information systems needs as well as the
stabilization of our new management information system. He will also champion
the "fix it at source" approach to data accuracy and provide clear and
consistent communication of strategies and objectives to the executive
management team.
