First to Launch a Bluetooth(R) Headset System -- GN Netcom Introduces the GN 6210 to Work With Both a Mobile Phone and Any Desk Phone

  Technologically sophisticated, competitively-priced, stylish, comfortable
headset solution keeps mobile office professionals connected anywhere

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- GN Netcom, a global innovator of hands-
free communication technologies, today announced that the GN 6210, a single
headset solution that works with any desk phone and Bluetooth mobile phone, is
now available for purchase through GN Netcom's network of authorized
specialty, catalog and online resellers. The GN 6210 keeps office
professionals in touch anywhere they go and eliminates the hassle of juggling
multiple headsets for different phones. GN Netcom was the first to provide a
Bluetooth hands-free device in 2000, and in 2004, becomes the first supplier
of a dual-use solution capable of seamless communication between a desk phone
and Bluetooth mobile phone.
The completely wireless GN 6210 is designed especially for office
professionals who require mobility inside and outside the office. Like the PDA
(personal digital assistant), the GN 6210 joins a growing class of mobile
productivity devices that are designed for mobile office professionals whose
business tools are used in the office, at home or while traveling.
Utilizing GN Netcom's GN Link(TM) technology, the GN 6210 is capable of
working seamlessly with both an office telephone and a mobile phone, allowing
the user to answer or place calls through either phone with the touch of a
button. While leveraging the increasing popularity of Bluetooth mobile
handsets worldwide, the headset's sophisticated charger base unit in effect
upgrades any desk phone to work with Bluetooth. In addition, an optional
accessory will enable the GN 6210 to work with any mobile phone -- even those
lacking Bluetooth capability.
The GN 6210 uses a "behind-the-ear" form factor already popularized by GN
Netcom's hugely successful JABRA FreeSpeak Bluetooth headset and brings a
fresh look both inside and outside of the office. The headset is made of a
soft, sound-absorbing elastomer material that reduces distortions, resulting
in crisp sound quality. The earpiece sits behind either ear comfortably and
securely. The earpiece also features the MiniGel(TM) ear tip, available in
standard and small sizes. These soft, ergonomic gel tips channel sound
directly into the user's ear for better reception and improved ability to hear
conversations clearly even in noisy environments. The GN 6210 weighs only 23
grams/0.8 ounces and features a talk time of up to 8 hours, and a standby time
of 240 hours. The headset features a Bluetooth standard range of 10 meters (30
feet) from its base.
"Today's business professionals are dramatically increasing the percentage
of work calls they make at the office and on the road therefore, there is an
increasing dependence on both an office phone and a mobile phone. As the
world's largest manufacturer of Bluetooth wireless headsets, through the GN
Netcom and JABRA brands, GN Netcom is committed to providing a solution to
meet their needs as well as provide users with hands-free freedom and mobility
around the work area," said Raajnish A. Chitaley, Director of Marketing for GN
Netcom. "As the first company to provide a Bluetooth hands-free device in
2000, the GN 6210 represents the convergence of a mobile and office headset
while offering an innovative wearing style inspired by the professional mobile
market."
The GN 6210 can be accessorized with the GN 1000 RHL (Remote Handset
Lifter) to make a complete, hands-free communications solution. The GN 1000
RHL works with the GN 6210, letting office professionals maximize their
calling convenience by answering and ending calls remotely while away from
their desks.
The GN 6210 will list for $249. Bolstering GN Netcom's comprehensive
portfolio of wireless headset solutions for office professionals, the GN 6210
joins the ranks of the very successful GN 9120 and the GN Ellipse wireless
headsets.
