LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Compact Power Systems, Inc., today
announced the expansion of its Cellboost(TM) line of disposable
battery/chargers for cell phones with new applications for smart phones,
camcorders, Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP and DS systems, and Apple iPods. The
new offerings will use the same technology as the company's highly successful
patented Cellboost cell phone battery/chargers to restore power to dead or
dying mobile devices instantly and inexpensively with no need for an
electrical outlet, no cords and no aggravation.
The expanded product line will be shown at the 2005 Winter Consumer
Electronics Show that opens in Las Vegas today. Models are scheduled to be
available for purchase through major U.S. distribution channels in the second
quarter of the year.
Like the original Cellboost product for cell phones, the new models will
be compact, highly portable, and capable of bringing powerless or near-
powerless devices back to life without any external electricity, battery
changes or significant charging time.
Users will be able to start talking, emailing, recording, gaming, playing
their digital music or using any of their product's functions within seconds
of plugging the Cellboost battery/charger into their device's charging port.
The Cellboost units will also allow for users to continue usage while
simultaneously charging their device. Cellboost can also be used in one
charging session or several, and can be thrown away when its power is
exhausted.
The new products will include:
-- Cellboost for Smart Phones --- delivering an average of 60 minutes of
talk time / 60 hours of standby time for leading devices including
RIM's BlackBerrys, PalmOne's Treos and Danger's Sidekicks.
-- Cellboost for Camcorders --- supplying recording time comparable to a
standard on-board battery and supporting Sony, Canon, JVC and other
leading brands.
-- Cellboost for Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP and DS --- providing several
hours of additional playing time.
-- Cellboost for Apple iPod --- delivering several hours of additional
playback time.
