Pixa Simplifies Home Entertainment With DHT-200 Media Center, a DLP Home Theatre Projector With Built-in DVD Player & More

Honored With CES Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase Award

    LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- 2005 International CES, South Hall 2
#25427 -- Why deal with three or four different home entertainment devices
when you can get them all in one package? That's the idea behind the Pixa
DHT-200 Integrated DLP Home Theatre Projector System -- a space-saving home
media center from Pixa, Inc., that is the first product to combine a Digital
Light Processing (DLP)-based home projector with a built-in DVD player, 6-in-1
digital media player, TV tuner and wireless speakers.
This portable 10-pound unit has been honored in the Home Theater category
of the Innovations 2005 Design and Engineering Showcase sponsored by 2005
International CES for its breakthrough ability to support DVDs, cable TV,
HDTV, digital photos and more with a single piece of hardware.
    Components include:

-- A home theatre projector that delivers crisp images ranging from 35" to
271", an 1850:1 contrast ratio, signal 0.70" DDR DMD 1024x768 display
technology, high-brightness Zeiss-based 1800 ANSI lumen, and both
standard 4:3 and widescreen 16:9 aspect ratios.

-- A built-in DVD player that plays DVDs, VCDs, CDs, interactive VCDs,
S-VCDs, MPEG1 Layer3, and JPEG files for showing CD-based photo albums.

-- A built-in 6-in-1 digital media player for displaying digital camera or
camcorder images or playing MP3 tunes from Memory Stick, CompactFlash,
Secure Digital, Smart Media, IBM MicroDrive and MultiMedia Card
       devices.

    -- A built-in 128-channel TV tuner that is NTSC, PAL and SECAM-compatible
       and supports HDTV 480p, 480i, 576p, 576i, 720p and 1080i.

    -- A built-in 2-watt speaker system plus a wireless active stereo speaker
of two 25-watt speakers included in the package, with the option to
upgrade to an all-wireless speaker system consisting of two 50-watt
speakers and a 150-watt active subwoofer with virtual surround effects.

The product comes with a wireless remote control and utilizes only one
power cable -- an unusual feature that produces plug-and-play theater.
Input/output options including HDTV/EDTV, standard TV (F-Terminal), S-Video
(DIN), composite (RCA), RCA audio, PC Audio, and a 15-pin D-sub analog
connector that can be used for RGB or Y-Pb-Pr (progressive scan) hookups from
set-top boxes, DVD players, video scalers, and video signal switchers.
