SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- the good guys! (Nasdaq: GGUY) today
announced that sales for its first fiscal quarter ended December 31, 1998 were
$294.1 million, up 1% from $290.3 million in the first quarter of fiscal 1998.
Comparable store sales for the quarter decreased 2%.
During the quarter, the Company opened its fourth and fifth WOW! concept
stores as Audio/Video Exposition Enhanced WOW! stores in Laguna Hills and San
Mateo, California (replacing an existing store in San Mateo). In December
1998, the Company also opened a new Audio/Video Exposition Store in Palo Alto,
California.
