Halifax Awarded $2 Million Enterprise Maintenance Contract

    ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Halifax Corporation (Amex: HX)
today announced that it had been awarded a three-year enterprise maintenance
contract valued at $2 million.  The Company will provide maintenance services
for check-clearing equipment and printers for a West Coast based financial
services company with over 375 locations.
    Charles McNew, president and chief executive officer, stated, "Our
national base of customers and our backlog of over $70 million continues to
expand.  The Company's growing reputation for reliable, 7 x 24 delivery in the
enterprise maintenance marketplace is accelerating both the scale and the
