The List Includes Multiple Titles from EA
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- THX Ltd. wrapped
the year with 9 new games from Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) incorporating
THX Certification. The list includes some of last year's most popular titles
from the EA GAMES(TM) and EA SPORTS(TM) brands, such as Need for Speed(TM)
Underground 2, NFL STREET 2, and The Lord of the Rings(TM): The Third Age(TM).
Since creating the audio and visual standards for video games in September
2003, more than 13 THX Certified titles have been developed and published by
EA. This year, the two companies will work together on additional titles,
including the highly anticipated NBA STREET V3, which is scheduled for a
February release.
The THX Certified Games program provides game developers and publishers
with the ultimate environment to create audio and visual content. The program
includes specifications for the way EA's production studios are set up and
maintained during the critical stages of a game's development. Optimizing
these production environments ensures that game soundtracks, color palettes
and visual effects are accurately translated from the studio to the gaming
console, helping gamers experience EA's true vision for the game.
