VividReach(TM) Enables Flawless High-Performance HDMI 1.3a Links over
Cables Up To 40 Meters with Integrated DDC Switching and EDID Support
Dramatically Lowering Bill of Materials for Digital TVs
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Vativ Technologies, a leading
provider of advanced DSP-based semiconductor communications solutions,
announced today that its patented VividReach technology has been included
in their new VTV2410 4:1 switch chip. The VTV2410 also integrates
capacitively buffered DDC switching and 1 Kbyte of on-chip, nonvolatile
EDID memory, for up to $2.10 in bill-of-materials savings over discrete
implementations as well as simplifying design.

"VividReach enables high-performance HDMI links over distances greater
than any competitor in the market. Our patented DSP-controlled analog
techniques result in superior equalization, which in turn allows consumers
and installers to use lower cost and longer length cables without
degradation in picture quality. For retailers, VividReach virtually
eliminates any HDMI product returns due to poor quality cables," said Tom
Tullie, CEO and Director, Vativ Technologies. "At CES we will be
demonstrating Vativ's VividReach technology outperforming the market leader
by using up to 40 meters of cable with perfect picture quality. This is
more than twice the cable length we've seen work in TVs that employ our
competitors' HDMI solutions."
The new VTV2410 4:1 switch chip supports up to 4 HDMI 1.3a inputs at
Deep Color rates of 2.25Gbps along with integrated DDC Switching and EDID.
It is ideal for digital TV designs requiring multiple inputs including
noisy front panel connectors. The new switch chip also alleviates the need
to design in discrete I2C buffers, EDID memory chips, and separate front
panel equalizers for a conservative bill of materials savings of $2.10 per
design. The VTV2410 interfaces to HDMI receivers such as Vativ's VTV231x
family or directly to DTV processors with integrated HDMI receivers.
"The DDC and EDID functionality employed by Vativ provides some unique
benefits to TV makers," said Jano Banks, Founder and CEO, Radiient
Technologies, and co-inventor of HDMI. "It's the first solution I've seen
where these on-switch functions will be used rather than designed around."
The VTV2410 will be available for sample in Q1'08, and the VividReach
technology will be demonstrated in the HDMI TechZone Booth # 25705, South
Hall 2, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, January 7-10.
