Terra Industries Inc. (NYSE: TRA) (Terra) reported today that it has
restarted its Port Neal, Iowa, facility and has purchased Port Neal's natural
gas requirements for the balance of January. Port Neal represents 12%, 21%
and 5% of Terra's North American ammonia, UAN and urea manufacturing
capacities, respectively.
Michael L. Bennett, Terra's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer, commented, "We have completed repairs to the Port Neal ammonia plant
which was shutdown in early December because of mechanical problems. We are
pleased that Port Neal is operating again so that we can resume supplying much
needed product to our dealer and industrial customers."
