DETROIT, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2004 North American International Auto
Show (NAIAS) is strongly encouraging the estimated 17,500 people attending the
black-tie Charity Preview on Friday, Jan. 9, to arrive early for parking
convenience.
"The NAIAS and the City of Detroit are well-prepared for the night, but we
encourage attendees to head downtown early," said NAIAS senior co-chair Chuck
Fortinberry. "It's a great night for Detroit and for the charities, so we
want to make sure things run as smoothly as possible."
The Millennium Garage, on Congress between First and Second streets, and
the Ford underground garage on Jefferson are the recommended parking garages
for individuals self-parking for the event. Drivers dropping guests off at
Cobo must be properly credentialed through NAIAS. Any last minute calls for
credentials should be directed to the NAIAS offices at 248-643-0250. The Cobo
Roof and all other access to Cobo Center will be closed to non-credentialed
vehicles beginning at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9th.
