North American International Auto Show Attracts More Than 6,500 Media From Around the Globe

    DETROIT, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American International Auto Show
(NAIAS) today announced that more than 6,500 journalists attended Press
Preview Days, Jan. 4 - 6, 2004, making it once again one of the largest media
events in North America.
    Media covering the show came from more than 60 countries, with about 34
percent being international journalists.  More than 4,300 U.S. journalists
attended, representing more than 40 states.
    Attending media included broadcast radio, TV, print and online
publications.  Some of the notable media that visited Detroit to cover the
show include Good Morning America, The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, CNBC,
CNN, BBC, CBC, Fuji TV, TV Tokyo, Esquire Magazine, and Entertainment Tonight,
which is scheduled to broadcast live with host Bob Goen from the sold-out
NAIAS Charity Preview on Friday, Jan. 9.
    During Press Preview Days, media attended more than 40 press conferences
that resulted in the unveiling of nearly 70 new vehicles from automakers
spanning the globe.

    Public Days for NAIAS 2004 are open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.,
Saturday, January 10, through Sunday, January 18.  On Monday, January 19, the
show is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  No admittance one hour in advance
of closing each day.
