WEST KINGSTON, RI UNITED STATES
APC AV C3 Offers Advanced Power Protection and Isolated Noise Filtering for
Complete Home Entertainment Systems for Less Than $100

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Power Conversion
(Nasdaq: APCC) (APC), a global leader in power availability solutions,
today introduced the APC AV C3 Power Filter that delivers surge protection
and isolated noise filtering to help eliminate power anomalies such as
surges, spikes, or electro magnetic and radio frequency interference
(EMI/RFI) that threaten AV component hardware, signal integrity, and system
availability.
    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20031003/NEAPCLOGO )
APC designed the C3 Power Filter specifically for AV environments. It
provides eight surge-protected and filtered outlets to ensure protection
for all AV components. The unit also offers EMI/RFI noise filtering banks
for digital, and high-current (amplifier, subwoofer) devices. Each bank is
isolated to prevent noise from polluting other connected devices and it
offers "best in class" surge protection with a less than 85 Volt
let-through rating.
"APC has been very successful in bringing its legendary power
engineering expertise to the AV market," said Joe Loberti, APC's vice
president of Home and Distributed Systems. "With the continued growth of
home entertainment systems and more sophisticated components such as plasma
and LCD TVs, DLP projectors, high-end receivers, hi-def DVD players and
media PCs, it's important that these devices are well protected from
damaging surges and spikes. APC's complete line of power filters -- the C2,
C3, C5 and C10, all help ensure optimal audio and video performance, as
well as protection of AC and datalines."
The C3 provides Gold Coax connections and phone jack surge protection
that offer an additional safeguard for incoming signals on the dataline.
Featuring an attractive and bold chassis in silver or black, the C3 uses
high quality construction and materials that will complement any high
performance AV system. The C3 carries safety certification from UL, FCC,
and CSA. All of APC AV's C Type Power Filters including the new C3, offer
an Equipment Protection Policy (EPP). If properly connected equipment is
damaged due to the failure of the C3, APC will pay to repair or replace
that equipment up to $150,000 (see policy for details).
Available in North America in the first quarter 2007, the C3 Power
Filter carries an estimated resale price of $99.99. APC will exhibit this
and its other APC AV products at the 2007 International CES from January
8-11 in booth 21862 South Hall 1. For more information about APC and its
other innovative audio/video solutions, please call 800-877-4080, or visit
