March Madness on Demand Wins 2007 Award for Outstanding Achievement in
Advanced Media Technology
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The winners of the 59th Annual
Technology & Engineering Emmy(R) Awards were announced last night at the
Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas where the International Consumer Electronics
Show (CES) is underway. CBSSports.com and CBS Sports were honored for their
production of March Madness on Demand, the online video experience that
provides live streaming video of the NCAA(R) Division I Men's Basketball
Championship.
March Madness on Demand was the winner in the following category:
Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for Synchronous
Enhancement of Original Television Content For Interactive Use (Two Screen
Environment TV /PC or TV / Mobile Device)
The nominees in the category were:

More than just live video from the tournament, the March Madness on
Demand player allows users to keep up with the rest of the tournament with
live scoreboards, a live and updating bracket and even access historical
video clips from great NCAA Tournaments in the past.
In 2006 March Madness on Demand was presented free of charge for the
first time since its debut in 2003, producing tremendous traffic results
with over 19 million video streams and five million visits, resulting in
what many experts called a watershed moment in media history.
