New application simplifies remote media access and offers delivery
management to wireless service operators
LAS VEGAS, Jan 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at CES, Orb Networks and intouch
group demonstrated a seamless integration between the Orb service platform
and intouch's flagship application "iBrowz", which provides 2 click instant
access to web content on a mobile handset.
intouch group developed this integration using the Orb API
(http://developer.orb.com), allowing mobile users to access their personal
audio and video collection stored on their home computer, from their cell
phone. Moreover, the media can be managed so that real time streaming
access can be complemented with time-shifted side or down-loading to the
device onto an SD card (in the home or over the air), thus helping wireless
service operators to better manage their network bandwidth and service
exploitation costs.
