GLENROTHES, Scotland, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Semiconductor Business
Unit of Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) has just announced two major contracts
for mixed signal ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Chips) semiconductors
for sensor applications.
The first order, worth 4m pounds sterling, is for the continued supply
during 2003 of sensor signal conditioning devices for a European automotive
sensor company. The company is showing continued growth in key automotive
safety and industrial applications.
The second order, worth 2m pounds, is for the continued supply of sensor
interface ASICs designed to offer fire protection within intelligent building
systems. This RSL customer is a world leader in the supply of intelligent
building protection systems.

The Semiconductor Business Unit of RSL has been bucking the trend against
the semiconductor industry backdrop of lower sales and profits by focusing on
key long-term growth markets, world-class customer service and six sigma
management and process philosophy. RSL designs and manufactures analog and
mixed-signal ASICs utilizing on-chip non-volatile memory to provide digitally
calibrated functions ideal for calibrating real world sensors. The company
also provides semiconductor obsolescence re-manufacturing services to
industrial and defense companies.
Raytheon Systems Limited, the UK-based subsidiary of Raytheon Company,
