DETROIT, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Proven safety innovations such as
anti-lock brakes, traction control systems and electronic stability control
(ESC) are rapidly becoming standard among manufacturers' new vehicles. Many
new vehicles being introduced at the North American International Auto Show
(NAIAS) this year are equipped with Continental's life-saving technologies.
Among some of the important model introductions at this year's NAIAS that
showcase Continental equipment are the all-new Dodge Caliber, the BMW Z4 M
Roadster, Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV, Mercedes S-Class, the Jeep Wrangler,

* Dodge Caliber
The Dodge Caliber marks the debut of Chrysler's new four-cylinder engine
and replaces the Neon in the Dodge lineup. The Caliber features Continental's
anti-lock brake system, electronic stability control (ESC), wheel speed
sensors, brake boosters, sensor cluster and ContiPremiumContact2 tires.
* BMW Z4 M Roadster
The return of the heralded M Roadster comes full circle with the debut of
the 2006 Z4 M Roadster, which goes on sale shortly after the NAIAS. The Z4 M
Roadster will be equipped with ESC from Continental, along with wheel speed
sensors, brake boosters, hoses, belts and calipers.
* Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV
Mercedes will show off its new G-Class SUV, which is entering its 26th
year of production, at the auto show this year. The G-Class is equipped with
Continental's active rollover protection, wheel speed sensors, brake boosters,
hoses, electronic air suspension, sensor cluster, heated seat module and 4x4
Contact tires.
* Mercedes-Benz S-Class
The eighth generation of the luxury Mercedes S-Class sedan, featuring new
styling, technology and touted by some as the "king of the road," will be a
highlight of the NAIAS. The driver assistance system for the S-Class includes
Continental's adaptive cruise control (ACC) as one of the significant
advancements in the S-Class. Integrated distance sensors recognize the
changes in distance to the vehicle ahead much faster than the driver. If a
rear-end collision threatens, the activated ACC can apply the brakes quicker
than the driver. The new S-Class also features Continental's ESC and hoses.
* Jeep Wrangler
The newly redesigned Jeep Wrangler also will be featured at the NAIAS.
Continental provides the anti-lock brake system and wheel speed sensors for
the new Jeep Wrangler models.
* Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
The 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is debuting at the NAIAS as an exciting
continuation of the 2006 Eclipse model. Continental supplies the traction
control and anti-lock brake systems for the Eclipse Spyder.
* Ford Explorer Sport Trac
The 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac production model makes its debut,
following its 2005 unveiling as a concept vehicle. Continental provides the
Explorer Sport Trac with its anti-lock brake system.
