"Vendor interoperability is a critical issue for IT managers,
particularly as operating efficiency and costs become higher profile
issues," said Ted Ives, APC's director of technology partnerships. "Our
customers are demanding increased interoperability between APC's physical
layer solutions and other key components of the data center. APC's
Technology Partner Program invites vendors of complementary technologies
interested in achieving higher levels of availability and lower levels of
energy consumption in the data center to deliver comprehensive solutions to
our mutual customers."
The APC Technology Partner Program simplifies the partner's engagement
process with APC. The program typically involves efforts ranging from joint
hardware and software development and interoperability testing to the
development of application notes to speed solution deployment and customer
adoption. The APC Technology Partner Program currently includes companies
such as Cisco, Microsoft, Red Hat, Neon Software, Network Appliance and
others.
"Cisco shares a commitment to interoperable solutions with APC, and
supports the introduction of the APC Technology Partner Program," said
Richard Tywoniak, senior manager, partner programs at Cisco Systems. "We
realize power and cooling are critical to any IP telephony implementation,
and recognize the necessity for interoperability between Cisco and APC
products."
"Microsoft Technology Centers (MTCs) offer our mutual customers the
facilities and resources necessary to efficiently envision, architect, and
evaluate solutions using Microsoft and partner technologies, and we have a
long and fruitful history of collaboration with APC on these customer
engagements," said John Mathieu, WW MTC alliance senior program manager at
Microsoft. "We are pleased that APC is announcing the launch of their own
Technology Partner Program, which will make it even easier for our mutual
customers to make choices leading to best-of-breed, interoperable solutions
that address their business needs and availability requirements."
In addition to partners Cisco and Microsoft, other leading companies
such as Red Hat, Neon Software and Network Appliance also have benefited
through their association with the APC Technology Partner Program.
"We are delighted to be selected as one of APC's initial technology
partners, which is particularly fitting since APC was the first IT vendor
to join our own 'Red Hat Ready' certification program," said Tim Yeaton,
senior vice president of Red Hat Enterprise Solutions. "We look forward to
continue our ongoing efforts to ensure high availability for Red Hat
Enterprise Linux customers."
"Neon Software's extensive field experience has shown that APC's
InfraStruXure(R) is the ideal architecture for growing businesses," said
Craig Isaacs, president of Neon Software. "Working with APC to integrate
the APC InfraStruXure devices into Neon Software's LANsurveyor was an easy
process and the end result is a complete solution which will benefit mutual
customers."
"Network Appliance is happy to announce built-in APC Uninterruptible
Power Supply (UPS) monitoring and unattended graceful shutdown capability
in our fabric-attached storage systems. APC's industry leading UPS
products, in combination with the NetApp FAS systems, represent a
comprehensive approach to data availability and protection for our mutual
customers," said Patrick Roger, vice president of products and alliances at
NetApp.
