CDM8935 Offers Optimal Portability, Performance and Price
LAS VEGAS and HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Small
enough to accompany a yellow polka dot bikini and capable of snapping
photos of a day at the beach, the new, itsy bitsy CDM8935 handset from
UTStarcom Personal Communications, a division of UTStarcom, Inc. (Nasdaq:
UTSI), is one of the smallest wireless CDMA camera phones in North America.
Measuring less than four cubic inches overall, the CDM8935 fits easily in
the palm of your hand, into a small evening bag or in your front pocket.
The CDM8935 was unveiled today at the UTStarcom booth (# 30306 South Hall
3) at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the Las Vegas
Convention Center.

"The CDM8935 is so compact and affordable, there's little reason not to
have a wireless camera phone with you everywhere you go," said Philip

The clamshell-style, dual-mode (800/1900 MHz CDMA) CDM8935 weighs less
than three ounces and measures only (h) 3.3" x (w) 1.7" x (d) 0.7". The
phone is equipped with a CMOS 310K camera and images can be viewed on its
1.5-inch 262K Color TFT (128 x 128) main display screen. The phone also has
a one-inch 65K Color CSTN (96 x 64) exterior display.
The CDM8935 camera phone features a built-in speakerphone,
voice-activated dialing, CMX 32 polyphonic ringtones and is designed to
support many of the popular audio formats including MIDI, SP-MIDI, PMD,
QCP-13K, EVRC, I-MELODY and MP3 and image formats such as JPG, GIF,
Animated-GIF, BMP, WBMP, PNG and BCI. The CDM8935 is also designed to
support text messaging, Enhanced Message Service and Multimedia Message
Service. The CDM8935 has 16 MB Flash/8 MB Ram, making it easier for
consumers to store important photos. The phone is also designed to store up
to 500 phone book entries.
