announced the release of its HomeRemote home control system today.
HomeRemote is an affordable, easy-to-use system that lets users control
their household appliances and lighting both from within their homes and
from anywhere in the world via a standard Internet web browser or mobile
phone. For added security, HomeRemote allows users to monitor their homes
with live video from HomeRemote Wireless Video Cameras (HRNC1). HomeRemote
lets even novice users tailor their homes for personal comfort and control
within minutes. The HomeRemote System (HRGZ1) consists of an Internet
Gateway plus handheld remote control for convenient, in-home control of
lighting and appliances.
Real-World Applications
The HomeRemote system utilizes Z-Wave technology, an award-winning,
reliable wireless standard that enables compatibility with a full selection
of accessory devices, including lighting and climate controls, video
cameras, garage door openers, and more. With HomeRemote, users can monitor
and control their devices, and help keep their homes secure as well. By
adding motion detectors and sensors to their home automation systems, users
can receive emails or text messages on their cell phones when these devices
are triggered. While away, users can also set their indoor and outdoor
lights to turn on at scheduled times, thereby warding off intruders by

Ease-of-Use
The HomeRemote System can be accessed through any Internet web browser
by entering a custom user-selectable domain name, such as
http://www.myhome.homeremote.net. The web interface is organized by the
rooms in a home and the devices within those rooms. HomeRemote is also
accessible through a mobile phone using the HomeRemote Cell-Link service.
Cell-Link allows users to install software on their cell phones that is
customized to their home control configuration. The HomeRemote Cell-Link
service also provides users with live video on their cellular phones when
used with a HomeRemote Wireless Video Camera (HRNC1).
Pricing and Availability
Hawking's HomeRemote line will begin shipping on March 1st, 2007
through select retailers, direct marketers, e-commerce sites and
distribution channels. The HomeRemote Gateway plus Remote Control will be
available for purchase at a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of
$199.99, and the HomeRemote Wireless Video Camera will be available at an
MSRP of $169.99. All HomeRemote products will come with a 1-Year Warranty
and 24/7 technical support, including firmware updates.
