Columbia Bank Names New Human Resources Director and Announces Retirement of Tex Whitney

TACOMA, WA UNITED STATES
    TACOMA, Wash., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Columbia Bank has named
Kent Roberts as its Human Resources Director, replacing Executive Vice
President Tex Whitney, who retired on January 3, 2007, after 40 years in
banking.

    Mr. Roberts joins Columbia Bank as a Senior Vice President and has over
30 years of human resources experience. He was with Bird's Eye Foods, the
parent company of Nalley's and Tim's Cascade Chips, for 30 years before
joining Columbia. Mr. Roberts earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications
from the University of Washington and is a former Board Chair for the
United Way of Pierce County. He lives in University Place with his wife and
daughter.
