pleased to announce that Darrell D. Pittard, the Company's Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer, has been named the 1998-99 Business Executive of the Year
by the Georgia Securities Association (GSA). This award is given annually to
a top executive whose performance has led a Georgia company to become an
industry leader.
James E. Freeman, Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of

Darrell D. Pittard of Premier Bancshares is Business Executive of the Year
Darrell D. Pittard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Premier
Bancshares, will receive the 1998-99 Executive of the Year Award from the
Georgia Securities Association (GSA). The award is given each year by the GSA
during its annual meeting in February at the Cloister, Sea Island Georgia.
Recipients are top executives whose performance has propelled a Georgia
company to become an industry leader.
Premier Bancshares is a multi-bank holding company headquartered in
Atlanta, Georgia with assets of approximately $1.5 billion and subsidiaries
operating over 40 offices throughout the Southeast. The Company's primary
subsidiaries are Premier Bank and Premier Lending Corporation, which are also

Mr. Pittard founded Premier Lending Corporation in March of 1993. Before
that, Mr. Pittard worked for Prime Bank, FSB and its holding company before it
was acquired by SouthTrust Corporation. Mr. Pittard was President and CEO and
a director of Heritage Bank from 1986 to 1988.
He has also worked with Bank South, Liberty Savings Bank and its parent,
First Liberty Financial Corporation and Decatur Federal Savings and Loan
Association.
After he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
from Tennessee Technological University in 1970, he earned an M.B.A. in real
estate from Georgia State University in 1974. He served in the U.S. Army as a
Captain and Company Commander of the 66th Finance Company of the 101st
Airborne Division from 1970-72.
Mr. Pittard currently serves as a board member on the Executive Advisory
Board of the Ivan Allen College of Georgia Tech.
