HOUSTON, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- R&B Falcon Corporation (NYSE: FLC)
announced today that, with effect from February 1, 2001, Paul B. Loyd, Jr.
will be joining the Board of Directors of Enterprise Oil, plc. as a non-
executive director. Enterprise Oil, headquartered in London, is one of the
world's leading independent oil and gas exploration companies with significant
interests in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Italy, the US and Brazil.
Mr. Loyd, aged 54, currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief
Executive Officer of R&B Falcon Corporation. Mr. Loyd also serves on the
boards of directors of two U.S. publicly traded companies, Carrizo Oil & Gas,
Inc. and Frontier Oil Corporation. In addition, he also serves on the Board
of Trustees for Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
R&B Falcon Corporation operates the world's largest fleet of marine-based
drilling rigs servicing the international oil and gas industry. Its fleet is
composed of 138 drilling units including the industry's largest fleets of
barge and jackup rigs, and a fleet of semisubmersibles and drillships which is

On August 21, 2000, R&B Falcon Corporation announced that it had signed a
definitive agreement to be acquired by Transocean Sedco Forex Inc. in an all
stock transaction in which common stockholders of R&B Falcon Corporation will
receive a fixed ration of 0.5 shares of newly issued Transocean Sedco Forex
ordinary shares for each R&B Falcon share. The transaction is expected to
close during the first quarter 2001.
