Eighth Annual Toast of Hockeytown Tickets on Sale

Johan Franzen, Coach Mike Babcock, Dan Cleary, Andreas Lilja and Jiri Hudler are all smiles during the Detroit Red Wings recent team visit to Children's Hospital of Michigan. The Wings are strong supporters of the hospital and the Red Wings Foundation has funded multiple projects at the hospital to assist in the care of patients and their families. This is just one fine example of the team's many efforts to give back in the community and events like the "Toast of Hockeytown" help the team accomplish their goal. (PRNewsFoto/Detroit Red Wings)

This annual event offers guests the opportunity to join the Red Wings
team for an elegant evening of wine tasting, fine liqueurs, a strolling
buffet, great silent and live auctions and the chance to mingle with
members of the current Red Wings team, alumni and other celebrities in
attendance. Guests will also have the unique opportunity to tour the Red
Wings locker room. This year's event will take place on the ice surface of
Joe Louis Arena where fans can experience the players' view of the arena
while enjoying some spectacular food and wine.

Since its inception the event has raised more than $750,000 for various
charities including The Family Funds of Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei
Mnatsakanov, Children's Hospital of Michigan and The Detroit Red Wings
Foundation.

"The Red Wings are excited to once again host this exclusive event,"
said Steve Violetta, Senior Vice President of Business Affairs for The
Detroit Red Wings. "We are pleased to offer a high quality event and unique
experience for attendees, but we are even more proud to be able to raise
much-needed funds to help so many local children."

Items available in the silent auction include: -- Autographed jerseys from NHL stars David Legwand, Marcus Naslund, Joe Sakic and Martin St. Louis -- Autographed memorabilia from the Detroit Pistons, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions -- Other great non-sports related items including gift certificates for spas, salons and fabulous Detroit-area restaurants. The live auction will feature exclusive items such as a team set of game- used autographed sticks, and jerseys worn by Red Wings players during the January 2, 2007 game at which Steve Yzerman's jersey was retired. The premiere item available will be the highly sought-after chance for two to fly with the Red Wings to an away game on Red Bird II later this season. This entire evening is about giving back, and having a little fun while raising funds for local groups and causes. The Red Wings Foundation supports several initiatives and organizations including: the development of inner city youth hockey, the fight against cancer, a wide array of children's health, educational and recreational activities and other needs of the community through the sport of hockey. Additionally, the team and foundation remain committed to providing support and funding to the Family Funds of Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakanov for their continued care and rehabilitation. A variety of sponsorship packages are available for this important and unique event. Tickets are $200 per person and can be ordered by calling (313) 396-7524.
