Franklin Covey Announces Management Changes

    SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Franklin Covey (NYSE: FC)
announced today the resignation of John L. Theler as the Chief Financial
Officer (CFO) of the Company.  Mr. Theler resigned yesterday to pursue other
interests.  The Company intends to conduct a global search engaging Heidrick
and Struggles to fill the CFO position.
    Separately, Franklin Covey also announced the appointment of Robert A.
Whitman as the Company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  Mr. Whitman is the
Company's Chairman and has served as interim CEO since July 1999.
    Commenting on the management changes, Mr. Whitman said, "We appreciate the
dedicated service of Jack Theler and wish him well in his new endeavors.  He
leaves a vacancy that will not be easy to fill."
