SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Providian Financial
Corporation (NYSE: PVN) today announced that financial services marketing
veteran Warren Wilcox has joined the company as Vice Chairman, Planning and
Marketing. Wilcox will report to Providian's President and CEO Joseph
Saunders.
"Warren is an extremely talented executive with a long track record of
success. He will play a major role in our efforts to restructure Providian.
His marketing and strategic skills will be key ingredients in moving our
business forward successfully," said Saunders.
Wilcox joins Providian from Fleet Boston Financial where he had served as
Executive Vice President, Planning and Development of Fleet Credit Card
Services since 1998. Prior to that, he spent twelve years with Household
International's highly successful credit card unit in a variety of senior
management positions. His career also includes positions with Fair, Isaac and
Citigroup.
