LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Food 4 Less, the nation's
premiere price-impact supermarket chain, is pleased to announce the promotion
of Jay Cummins to Vice President and General Manager in its Store Operations
Department. In this new position, Cummins will be responsible for overseeing
the chain's expansion into the Midwest. Cummins reports directly to Food 4
Less President Dave Hirz.
Cummins, 50, began his career with Alpha Beta in 1972. During his 29-year
tenure, he has held various positions including Training Specialist, Store
Manager, Grocery Specialist, and Director of Store Operations Administration.
Most recently he served as District Manager overseeing 17 Food 4 Less stores
in San Bernardino and Riverside counties and Las Vegas, Nevada. Cummins was
instrumental in the conversion of the Las Vegas stores from the Price Rite
banner to Food 4 Less in May 2001.
He is married with three grown children and resides in Chino Hills,
California.
Food 4 Less currently operates 111 price-impact, warehouse-style stores
under the banners Food 4 Less in Southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada,
and Foods Co in Northern California, from its headquarters in Compton,
California. Food 4 Less is a division of The Kroger Co., (NYSE: KR), one of
