American Securitization Forum's 'ASF 2004' to Focus on Investors, Feature Issuer Presentations and Educational Content

    NEW YORK, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- ASF 2004, a conference for and by the
securitization industry, will offer a program rich in content for investors
and other securitization market participants, highlighted by panels featuring
industry leaders, issuer presentations, and opportunities for private
one-on-one meetings with issuers.  Close to thirty issuers will make
presentations at the conference, including Sallie Mae, Ford, Ameriquest and
MBNA.
    The conference is hosted by the American Securitization Forum, and will be
held January 25 - 28, 2004, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
    "A major goal of the ASF is to offer the securitization industry superior
educational programming through its conferences and seminars," said Diane
Wold, Managing Director at GMAC-RFC and Chair of the ASF's Communication and
Education Committee.  "The unique features of this conference include the
roster of speakers, issuer presentations, and one-on-one meetings for
investors coordinated by the ASF.  These features offer attendees, especially

most important issues in the securitization industry today."
    Some of the conference panel topics include an investors' perspective on
the market featuring a "report card" of various market players, predatory
lending, CDOs, Basel II, accounting and research and trader roundtables.
Representative Spencer Bachus (R-Ala), Chairman of the Subcommittee on
Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit and an active participant in
predatory lending hearings, will discuss the view from the Capitol, R. Neal
Batson, Court-appointed Examiner for Enron Corporation and a partner at Alston
& Bird LLP, will offer his perspective on Enron, Leslie Seidman, a Financial
Accounting Standards Board member, will provide an update on current
accounting issues affecting securitization, and Jeffrey Minton, Special
Counsel of the Office of Rulemaking in the U.S. SEC's Division of Corporation
Finance, will discuss current SEC initiatives.
