Next Evolution of Bar Code Scanning Helps Boost Employee Productivity for
               Retail, Hospitality and Healthcare Industries

NEW YORK, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- National Retail Federation
Annual Conference and Expo (Booth #1623) -- The enterprise mobility
business of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced the new CA50, a
voice over Internet protocol (VoIP)-enabled wireless scanner designed to
enhance customer service, help reduce operational costs and increase worker
productivity. The CA50 provides retail, healthcare and hospitality service
workers with an integrated voice and data device that fills a large
communications gap that is found on store floors, across hospitals and
restaurants today.

The new CA50 redefines customer service by providing more employees
with real-time access to people and information and enables associates to
fulfill customer requests at hospitality establishments, conduct price and
inventory checks at retail stores and request immediate delivery of
equipment at hospitals, among other business critical activities. In
addition, the CA50 allows employees to place or receive calls anywhere in
the building -- in turn eliminating annoying overhead pages and long
response times by enabling one-to-one (voice calls) and one-to-many
(walkie-talkie style) calls for instant collaboration and communication.

    "Motorola's CA50 VoIP-enabled wireless scanner fills a communications
void in the task and service-oriented-level environment by equipping all
associates with a bar coding, data and voice device," said Bob Sanders,
vice president and general manager of Advanced Data Capture, Motorola
Enterprise Mobility business. "This device illustrates Motorola's efforts
to fuse legacy scanning technologies with new voice and wireless
capabilities so that all employees are connected with the latest technology
at their fingertips to better serve their customers and patients."

Motorola's new lightweight CA50 comes equipped with wireless LAN, bar
code scanning and information retrieval, and voice over Internet protocol
(VoIP) for integrated mobile-phone style voice communications. Through
Motorola's developing alliance with Avaya, a leading global provider of
business communications applications, systems and services, as well as
other telephony system providers, the CA50 can perform as an extension of
the desktop so that incoming calls can be redirected to ensure that no call
is missed or abandoned.

To help customers seamlessly integrate the CA50 into their
environments, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Services offers a full suite of
services that span the entire solution lifecycle -- from initial
assessment, commissioning and rollout through ongoing training and support.
Motorola's Advanced Services includes commissioning which minimizes network
integration issues and reduces implementation time and helps ensure that
the customers' CA50 server and mobile terminals are installed and
configured correctly.

The CA50 can also be protected by Motorola's innovative Service from
the Start Advance Exchange maintenance program. This multi-year agreement
helps protect product uptime with next-business-day device replacement. In
addition, the service includes comprehensive coverage at no additional
cost, which extends normal wear and tear coverage to include internal and
external components damaged through accidental breakage. This virtually
eliminates customers' unforeseen repair expenses.

The CA50 is expected to be available globally in the first quarter of
2008 through Motorola sales, as well as select Motorola business partners.
