CIGNA Selects E.piphany Software to Personalize Its New Employee Benefits Web Sites

E.piphany Real-Time to Provide Uniquely Targeted, Up-to-the Minute Information
    To Subscribers of the Newly Announced CIGNA Benefits Portal Initiative

relationship management (CRM), today announced that CIGNA has selected
E.piphany(TM) software to support the delivery of customized and personalized
information to its 16 million CIGNA health care and retirement plan consumers.
    On January 9, 2002, CIGNA and Yahoo! Enterprise Solutions announced an
agreement that will generate personalized benefits Web sites for CIGNA members
and participants starting in mid-2002. Unlike typical insurance portals, the
CIGNA portal will work to enhance the customer experience by integrating
health care and financial information, including personalized information for
CIGNA products and services. The portal will also provide the most direct path
for individual members and participants to connect with CIGNA to:

    -- Instantly review medical claims and manage their plans;
    -- Perform online transactions, such as ordering medications, or
       reallocating funds among 401K accounts;
    -- Access to a consolidated, interactive snapshot of their retirement
       plans;
    -- Receive personalized health and investment news.

    E.piphany's Real-Time software will be integrated with the Web sites to
recognize consumers as they log-on to their personal Web pages. Once the
member or participant is identified, the sophisticated analytics technology in
E.piphany Real-Time will offer consumers the option of receiving personalized
content and/or an online education that is precisely tuned to a member's life
stage or reason for visiting the online benefits site.
