Kevin Ross Affiliates With Powell Goldstein as Government, Public and Civic Affairs Consultant

    ATLANTA, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP
announced today that the prominent Atlanta lawyer, Kevin Ross, has been
retained as a special consultant as part of the Firm's commitment to increase
its community, civic, pro-bono, charitable, governmental and political
activities.  In addition, Mr. Ross will participate with the Firm in specific
business development initiatives in Atlanta and Washington, DC.
    Mr. Ross, a former managing partner of the Atlanta office of Hunton &
Williams, is the founder and president of KAJ Public Affairs Group, a highly
successful consultancy group in public affairs, government relations,
lobbying, zoning and land use representation, as well as maintaining a
separate law practice and undertaking selective campaign consulting
engagements.  Mr. Ross will continue his separate law practice and business
endeavors in Atlanta.
    Commenting on the agreement with Mr. Ross, Armin Brecher, Chairman of

    Mr. Ross, 47, is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Emory Law School.
Long active in political and civic affairs, he managed the successful election
campaigns of Atlanta Mayors Maynard Jackson and Bill Campbell, Georgia
Lieutenant Governor Pierre Howard, U.S. Congressman John Lewis, Fulton
Superior Court Judge Leah Ward Sears (now Presiding Justice of the Georgia
Supreme Court), Fulton County Commissioner Nancy Boxill and Fulton County
District Attorney Paul Howard.  In addition, Mr. Ross led successful efforts
to pass two referenda for the repair of Atlanta's infrastructure as well as a
1997 referendum on a local option sales tax for Atlanta schools.  In 2002, Mr.
Ross managed State Senator David Scott's successful campaign for the 13th US
Congressional district.
