Eye-Fi's Wireless Memory Card Featuring Atheros ROCm Technology Wins the
Yahoo! Tech 'Last Gadget Standing' Competition
SANTA CLARA, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Atheros Communications,
Inc. (Nasdaq: ATHR), a leading developer of advanced wireless and wired
solutions, today announced its WLAN technologies were featured in several
of the prominent, award-winning solutions at the 2008 International
Consumer Electronics Show. Eye-Fi's innovative wireless SD memory card for
digital cameras, which uses Atheros' Wi-Fi, was named the winner of Yahoo!
Tech's "Last Gadget Standing" competition -- judged by consumers as the
gadget with the best chance to be a life-changing force in the real world.
The Eye-Fi card features Atheros' ROCm(TM) mobile WLAN technology to
enable the easy, wireless transfer and sharing of photos taken with any
digital camera having an SD slot. In addition, two other Atheros-based
products were among the Top 10 finalists of Yahoo! Tech's "Last Gadget
Standing" award; ASUS was recognized for its low-cost Eee PC 4G notebook
featuring Atheros' 802.11g PCIe solution, and Fujitsu for its LifeBook U810
Mini-Notebook which uses Atheros Super AG(R) technology.
A variety of Atheros customer products targeting the computing, gaming,
and home networking markets received industry awards from the Consumer
Electronics Association (CEA). Following are the CEA INNOVATIONS 2008 Award
honorees which employ Atheros Wi-Fi solutions, including the company's
XSPAN(TM) technology, the most widely deployed 802.11n technology
worldwide, and its industry-leading 802.11n dual-band 5GHz/2.4GHz
