Celo and VASCO's IdentiSoft(TM) Division Announce Interoperability for VASCO's Digipass Family of Authentication Devices

A New Cost-Effective Option for Strong Security Infrastructure
In Business-to-Business Internet Commerce and PKI Applications

SAN JOSE, Calif., RSA DATA SECURITY CONFERENCE, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ --
Celo Communications (Booth 1322), a global provider of security products for
Internet commerce and communications, and VASCO Data Security International,
Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: VDSI.OB; Booths 435 and 1211), a leading provider of
strong authentication solutions, today gave businesses and government agencies
worldwide new options beyond smart cards or static passwords for protecting
their e-business applications. The companies announced interoperability
between Celo's e-business security product CeloCom Web, and VASCO's
Digipass(TM) family of authentication devices, creating a strong security
infrastructure ideal for business-to-business e-commerce.
The interoperability with CeloCom Web enhances the security of public key
infrastructure (PKI) applications and provides VASCO's authentication tokens
with digital signing abilities for non-repudiation.
"We're pleased to be an integral part of the CeloCom Web security
infrastructure for PKI applications," said Jan Valcke, General Manager of
VASCO's IdentiSoft division, which oversees the company's authentication
technologies worldwide. "Integration into CeloCom Web means that Digipass
authentication devices now offer organizations a portable and cost-effective
means of securing their PKI applications and protecting their private keys,
without requiring a smart card and reader."
VASCO's advanced authentication devices provide secure access to
organizations' data across all networks including the Internet, as simply and
economically as possible. Today VASCO has over three million authentication
devices deployed worldwide.
"The support of VASCO tokens within the Celo PKI environment opens up a
whole new realm of possibilities for the millions of VASCO users in the
market," said Sven Hammar, CEO of Celo Communications Inc. "This approach
will significantly minimize the cost of entry into e-commerce and e-business
for organizations already deploying tokens, and it represents a major
development in addressing the concerns related to the storage of private keys
on disk."
CeloCom Web is a security tool for secure Internet Commerce based on
certificate authentication and digital signing. It is fully based on public
key infrastructure (PKI), the industry standard for security, and comes with a
digital signing plug-in that can be used instantly with any browser.
