RSA Security Rolls Out Integrated Authentication Solution for Lotus Domino R5

New RSA ACE/Agent for Domino Expands Company's Web Security Offerings

SAN JOSE, Calif. and ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- In conjunction
with Lotusphere 2000 and the RSA Conference 2000, RSA Security Inc.
(Nasdaq: RSAS) today introduced its new authentication solutions for Lotus
Domino R5, a leading platform for information management, messaging,
collaboration and Web application development. With the delivery of the RSA
ACE/Agent for Lotus Domino, the company's RSA SecurID authentication solutions
are immediately available for organizations that use Web browsers to access
Lotus Domino resources.
"In today's Web-centric environment it is critical that you know who
you're doing business with," said Scott Schnell, senior vice president of
marketing for RSA Security. "Our RSA SecurID authentication solutions are
designed to positively identify your customers and partners, allowing you to
conduct business on the Web with confidence. Today's announcement is yet
another important milestone for RSA Security as we continue to address the
e-security needs of the online economy and bring to market a range of
solutions that protect business on the Web."
"Since security is an important issue for the millions of Lotus Domino
users, we provide our customers with a choice of leading security solutions,"
said Cliff Reeves, vice president of product management, Lotus Development
Corp. "With the interoperability between RSA SecurID solutions and our Domino
R5 products, we can offer customers additional flexibility to meet their
security needs."
The RSA Security authentication solutions are designed to help
organizations securely extend their e-business systems among their partners,
customers and mobile employees by ensuring only authorized users gain access
to private information. By integrating RSA SecurID with a Lotus Domino
environment, organizations can secure access to Lotus databases, files, and
URL directories and provide a portable solution for accessing resources on
Lotus Domino servers from any location.
Compatibility between the RSA Security and Lotus solutions is achieved
through a new RSA ACE/Agent v 1.0 for Lotus Domino that is designed to add
enterprise-class authentication (RSA SecurID hardware tokens, key fobs and
software tokens) to Lotus Domino Web servers, currently protected only by
passwords. The result creates a virtually impenetrable barrier against
unauthorized access to critical Web-based resources.
