CES 2005 Shows Off New Consumer Products Based on DataPlay(TM) Micro-Optical Storage Technology

BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- DPHI, Inc. a leader in
micro-optical storage technology, today announced that the Consumer
Electronics Show (CES 2005) was home for several new consumer products based
on the company's industry leading and patented low cost storage technology for
mobile devices and portable applications. New products included USB mass
storage devices, personal media players, photo accessories, and reference
designs for video recording and playback.
"New products demonstrated at CES provide a strong indication for the
consumer demand and OEM commitment expected this year," said Bill Almon,
President and CEO, DPHI, Inc. "Unlike HDD and flash memory, optical storage
technology had not decreased in size to meet the demand for small portable
digital content." DataPlay is the only commercially available small form
factor optical storage device that addresses the need for portable digital
content distribution and recording.

Several new products powered by DataPlay's micro-optical engine and media
were demonstrated at CES 2005, including:

     * Ritek's TOPY Mini-writer for storing and backing up large files

     *  Ritek's TOPY Photocopier , a multi-purpose media player and storage
device for digital content, especially photos

     * Sigma Designs 8510 PVP and PVP-R reference designs

The TOPY Mini Writer and TOPY Photocopier are uniquely designed for
DataPlay, a mini DVD that is approximately the size of a quarter with a
capacity up to 500MB. The TOPY Mini Writer is the smallest DataPlay
burner in the world. The plug-n-play USB port enables users to store
digital content anytime and anywhere. The TOPY Photocopier has all of
the advantages of Mini Writer with the addition of a SD/MMC/Memory stick
slot, so that users may directly store their digital photos and files
from the flash memory cards in their cameras or mobile phones to a
DataPlay disc. The TOPY Photocopier also serves as an MP3 Player, voice
recorder, line-in recorder, and FM tuner.
