WEGENER President and COO Selected for SATELLITE 2008 Panel 'Why Satellite? Delivering Value in a Hybrid World'

    DULUTH, Ga., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WEGENER Corporation

and COO Ned L. Mountain has been selected as a panelist for this year's
SATELLITE 2008, occurring from February 25-28 at the Washington Convention
Center in Washington, DC.

    On Tuesday, February 26 at 3:15pm, Mountain will participate in the
panel discussion entitled, "Why Satellite? Delivering Value in a Hybrid
World." The roundtable-style discussion will examine how price differences
between satellite and fiber bandwidth are challenging the business model of
many satellite service providers. Some are responding by moving as much
business as possible off transponders and onto fiber. Others are developing
specialized technologies and services that exploit the unique capabilities
of satellite in new ways. All are focusing on using IP-based technologies
to lower costs and create new applications.
