NYBOR.com to Purchase 5,000 of Equifax Secure's New Organizational
Certificates to Validate Identity for NYBOR.com Customers for Online
Transactions
SAN JOSE, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- RSA CONFERENCE 2000 -- Equifax Secure,
Inc., a unit of Equifax, Inc. (NYSE: EFX) and NYBOR.com, an Internet and
Intranet solutions provider specializing in the healthcare industry, today
announced a strategic partnership to deliver e-commerce solutions to the
healthcare industry. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Equifax Secure and NYBOR.com announced the agreement during RSA Conference
2000 in San Jose, Calif.
Under the agreement, Equifax Secure will issue more than 5,000 of its new
eBusiness ID(TM) Organizational Certificates on behalf of NYBOR.com's
corporate customers who have purchased InterShield(TM), NYBOR.com's
enterprise-level security tool for managing end-user connectivity to secure
systems including certificates, access levels and logging. NYBOR.com will
join the Equifax Secure eBusiness ID Referral Rewards Program and immediately
begin referring their Web-hosting customers to Equifax Secure for server
certificates that provide low-cost security for e-commerce sites.
"Securing legitimate trading partner access to sensitive information is so
critical to our healthcaare customers that we could only partner with a
company that offered exceptional tools and customer support," said Tim Kenney,
president of NYBOR.com "Equifax Secure's organizational certificate component
completed the InterShield e-business application security paradigm by adding
certificate issuance and support into the tool."
According to The Forrester Report, consumer healthcare e-commerce will
reach $370 billion by 2004. One of the top growth factors includes the
increase in security solutions that ease liability concerns including new
security solutions that reassure consumers and providers that sensitive data
will not fall into the wrong hands. Used to secure business-to-business
e-commerce over the Internet or an extranet, Equifax Secure eBusiness ID
Organizational Certificates enable businesses to identify trusted parties for
transactions initiated over public or private networks.
"An outsourced organizational certificates solution provides a total
certificate authority infrastructure along with our secure and efficient web
server authentication process to issue and manage digital certificates to
legitimate businesses," said Jeff Johnson, general manager of Equifax Secure.
"This infrastructure is critical to securing e-business applications when
organizations engage in transactions over multiple networks."
Equifax Secure eBusiness ID digital certificates offer advanced browser
compatibility, a highly secure and efficient authentication process, timely
delivery to end-users, full technical support for issuance and renewals and
superior customer service.
In 1999, Equifax Secure and the Sun-Netscape Alliance established a
strategic relationship to provide use of Sun-Netscape Alliance's iPlanet
Certificate Management System (CMS) with Equifax Secure's own authentication
technology, eID Verifier(TM), providing a one-stop e-commerce authentication
and digital certificate service.
"The relationship between Sun-Netscape and Equifax Secure represents a
major step forward in Internet security," said Claire Hough, vice president
and general manager of directory and security, the Sun-Netscape Alliance. "It
helps to eliminate barriers to e-commerce and accelerate the use and
acceptance of online business from banking to healthcare."
