SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Smith's Food & Drug Stores

The agreement with the Olympic Properties of the United States (OPUS) also
designates Smith's Utah stores, through ticketing agent SmithTIX, as the
official local ticket outlets for 2002 Olympic and Paralympic events in
conjunction with Tickets.com, the official ticketing services supplier for the

"We are proud to have a company like Smith's on board as an Official Games

said Mitt Romney, SLOC president and CEO.
"As a company with deep Utah roots, it's appropriate for Smith's to
celebrate our state's role in the 2002 Games by providing a nutritious food,
like milk, for the Olympic Games," said Russ Dispense, Smith's president. "We
will use Smith's involvement as an opportunity to bring the Games to Utah
families through exciting Fresh Values promotions related to dairy milk."
In addition to the in-kind value of milk and ticket sales, Smith's has
agreed to provide much-needed warehouse space for storage over an
eighteen-month period.

Smith's and Mountain Dairy brands are bottled at Smith's dairy facilities
in Layton, Utah and Tolleson, Arizona. The production facilities distribute
to the company's 116 stores throughout Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana,
Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho and Texas.
