Reiman Publications Introduces Taste of Home's Cooking For 2
GREENDALE, Wis., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Today Reiman
Publications, publisher of Taste of Home -- the world's #1 cooking
magazine -- and best-selling books and mail-order catalogs, announced the
launch of their newest magazine, Taste of Home's Cooking for 2. The Premiere
Winter 2005 issue is now available on newsstands.

"This is a perfect time for us to launch this new publication," says
Catherine Cassidy, Editor-in-Chief. "We have confirmed through national
research and tremendous reader response that there is a definitive, growing
market for this magazine-small households that are looking for delicious,
simple, downsized dishes. The magazine will cater to empty nesters,
newlyweds, retirees, singles and others in the pared-down American household."
The U.S. Census Bureau cites that 61.6 million U.S. households now consist
of just one or two people, an increase of nearly 38% in the past decade.
The Cooking for 2 executive team includes President Barbara Newton, former
senior vice president for Rodale, Inc.; Editor-in Chief Catherine Cassidy, who
is also responsible for written and graphic content across all Reiman product
lines; Executive Editor Kathy Pohl, who has previously spearheaded the launch
of three of Reiman's best-selling publications; and Food Editor Janaan
Cunningham, who heads the department that tests, selects and places recipes in
10 of the company's magazines and numerous cookbooks.
Cooking for 2 is solely devoted to the preparation of delicious, small-
scale recipes. The magazine is filled with dozens and dozens of recipes that
yield only a few servings. Just like Reiman's best-selling Taste of Home,
Cooking for 2 relies heavily on reader recipes that have been tested by an in-
house Test Kitchen staff. As even good cooks like to see pictures of the foods
they are preparing, a full-color photo is included with every recipe.
At-a-glance icons appearing next to each recipe alert readers as to which
recipes are lighter, diabetic friendly, especially quick, or can easily be
lightened up with substitute ingredients. Readers will also have detailed
nutritional information and a timeline of exactly how long it will take to
prepare each recipe. Other regular features include cooking tips and hints, a
question-and-answer column, and recipe contests.
Reminds Cassidy, "While this magazine will target small households, it's
not just about being able to cook for one or two. It's geared toward any cook
who wants to have all of the resources needed to prepare delicious modest-size
meals."
