DMOD Uses Disposable Keys for Enhanced Security

BOSTON, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- NTRU Cryptosystems, Inc. today announced a
partnership with Digital Media on Demand, Inc. (DMOD) in which DMOD will use
NTRU public key encryption technology in its innovative media distribution
software.

"NTRU has the most sophisticated encryption technology on the market,"
said DMOD Chief Operating Officer Brett Fasullo. "Their ability to let us
'encrypt on the fly,' and encrypt up to one key per second of a digital file,
is exactly the level of security our customers are demanding. Providing both
high speed and high security solutions, NTRU is a perfect fit for us."
NTRU is an innovative public key cryptography system developed by a team
of world-renowned mathematicians and cryptographers, including three Brown
University mathematics professors. NTRU provides the fastest and most-
efficient public key cryptography solution - for all needs and at all security
levels. At the heart of NTRU is a collection of mathematical algorithms based
on manipulating lists of very small integers. This allows NTRU to achieve
high speeds with the use of minimal computing power.
"DMOD has developed an exceptional solution for online media
distribution," said Scott Crenshaw, NTRU's Vice President of Business
Development. "We are pleased to be an integral part of their package. DMOD
is leading the way for ubiquitous access to music and video over the Internet,
and their artists and users now have the best security available."

    Disposable Keys
NTRU's speed enables a completely new paradigm in encryption --
"disposable keys" -- which deliver significantly enhanced security compared to
other cryptography systems. In the DMOD application, approximately every
second of a music or video clip is encrypted with a different key. This means
that on a three-minute clip, the time and cost to break the encryption
increases by 180 times, with no performance penalties for users. Unlike other
systems which claim to generate multiple encryptions keys to protect media,
NTRU disposable keys are completely independent of one another, dramatically
enhancing security.
NTRU's speed also enhances server scalability. "With NTRU, we'll be able
to support more users with fewer servers," said Dusty Hester, DMOD's Chief
Technology Officer. "We can focus our resources on delivering rich content
quickly, instead of consuming valuable processing time encrypting data."

    Encryption on Demand
"DMOD encrypts each media clip with keys unique to each user, bringing a
new level of protection to our content owners," Hester added. "This 'on the
fly' encryption helps prevent unauthorized sharing of our media clips. Other
systems encrypt media in batch, using the same key for every user, or even for
every song. This is another reason why DMOD provides the highest level of
protection available, and is a direct result of NTRU's speed."

    About DMOD
Digital Media On Demand, Inc. (DMOD) is a leader in digital content
encryption, distribution and flexible rights-management solutions. Its unique
security technology boasts the highest level of encryption available, allowing
digital content providers to effectively and safely distribute content via the
Internet. The only company encrypting files "on the fly," DMOD offers content
developers the ability to mark and protect each second of a digital file with
a different encryption "key," making illegal use virtually impossible and
extremely time consuming. Based in Allston, Mass., the privately-held company
was founded in 1996. DMOD is funded by Greylock, a venture capital firm who
has helped launch over 250 companies since 1965 including Red Hat Software,
Open Market, Ascend Communications and SightPath. For more information on
