Detroit is accepting nominations for its special awards recognizing
individuals and organizations actively supporting others. Vanguard and
Diamond Award nominations must be postmarked by March 1, 2005. Award winners
will be honored during the Matrix Awards Banquet in May 2005. To obtain an

The Vanguard Award recognizes an individual or organization that has
enriched the general quality of life through a communication medium. Last
year's winner was Sandra Reminga, Executive Director of Area Agency on

The Diamond Award honors an individual or organization that has improved
the conditions for women in the workplace. Last year's winner was Mary Grace
McCarter, Executive Director of Women's Survival Center of Oakland County.
WIC is a professional organization that champions the advancement of women
across all communications disciplines. Association members represent print
