Gateway Delivers Value-Based Managed PCs To Business and Education Clients

    SAN DIEGO, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Strengthening its commitment to
providing clients technology solutions, Gateway Inc. (NYSE: GTW) today
introduced the E-1600, a value-based desktop computer that provides convenient
networking and manageability features for business and education clients.  The
newest addition to Gateway's award-winning E-Series desktop product line
easily fits into networked computing environments such as school computer labs
or businesses, where collaboration and data sharing are key.  With the
addition of Intel's 810E2 chipset, the E-1600 supports Ultra ATA 100 hard
drives, delivering greater data transfer rates to handle demanding
applications.
    The E-1600's built-in manageability features simplify network
administration through tools that enable IT managers to control system
upgrades and perform maintenance from remote locations.  A suite of "Wired for
Management" features such as Wake-On LAN and LANDesk Client Manager further
simplifies network administration providing convenient asset management and
product diagnostics.

an Intel 933MHz Pentium III processor with 133MHz front side bus, 256K cache
and 128MB high-speed SDRAM, expandable to 512MB.  The system also offers a new
small form factor 4-bay convertible desktop case, allowing clients to add an
additional internal drive to handle increased storage requirements.  An
optional 7-bay chassis provides easy accessibility to integral components,
such as screw-less and rail-less exterior drive bays and tool-free I/O adapter
