Cabrera is no stranger to top honors. Every year, as part of Burger King
Corporation's commitment to excellence throughout the BURGER KING system, the
company evaluates its franchisees on quality, service and cleanliness.
Throughout Cabrera's tenure, all of his restaurants have achieved exemplary
scores for "multi-unit operator" in the Southeast.
"I am proud to be part of a company that recognizes hard work and
determination," said Cabrera. "Over the years, Burger King Corporation's
support has helped me to grow personally and professionally."
Burger King Corporation encourages diversity among all of its franchisees.
"We strive to be leaders in our industry and we value and respect diversity as
an important business practice," said Brad Blum, Burger King Corporation CEO.
"We seek involvement not only with our consumers, but also encourage employing
a diverse workforce and supplier base."
Cabrera's professional achievements stem from his motivation to overcome
the personal obstacles he faced growing up. After losing everything to the
Castro regime, Cabrera left Cuba with his parents at the age of three. He
went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and later
obtained an MBA from the University of Miami. Cabrera credits these
experiences as part of his success and strong work ethic.
"America leads the world with ideas and innovations, advancements and
success," said Clyde Rucker, senior vice president, diversity, Burger King
Corporation. "It takes dedication to turn life's challenges into opportunities
and Mr. Cabrera has certainly uncovered his success and has contributed to
Burger King Corporation's leadership."
Not only has Cabrera completed a milestone at Burger King Corporation, but
he also lends his time to his industry and community. Cabrera is the
president of The National Franchise Association and has held former
fundraising positions with United Way and Communities and Schools in Miami.
