Startech Environmental Receives Northshore Asset Management's Reaffirmation of Its Long-Term Commitment

WILTON, Conn., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Startech Environmental
Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: STHK), in response to recent inquiries
regarding the possible sale of shares of Startech's common stock by Northshore
Asset Management, LLC and certain of its affiliates upon effectiveness of a
registration statement filed by Startech, today announced that it has received
assurances and a vote of confidence from Kevin O. Kelley, Northshore president
and CEO, and its affiliates that they continue to be committed to remaining a
significant shareholder in Startech for the long-term. The Company has also
received like assurances from Ardent Research, another significant Startech
shareholder.
Kevin O. Kelley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Northshore Asset
Management, said, "We have been an investor in Startech for several years and
remain committed long-term holders of Startech's stock. We have the utmost
confidence in Startech and its products, and we are most enthusiastic about
its immediate and long term future. It is also our opinion that the present
Startech share price is greatly undervalued."
Fran Saldutti, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ardent Research
Corporation, said, "We see few investment opportunities in the global economy
offering the scale and the magnitude of this next stage in the evolution of
the waste industry. Startech's technology appears to place it squarely at the
intersection of heightened environmental concerns and the increasing cost and
complexity associated with the safe and economic disposal of both hazardous
and non-hazardous waste."
